October '09 in January '10

Family got together for MD's blessing. We have a fun sandbox/pit in the backyard (which we dug in our first few months of moving in 5 years ago... thinking of how fun it would be for the kids to someday play in it. Precious). We had Wilsons, Jason's crew, Jimmy's crew, Scotty's crew, Grandma McKe, and a visit from the Doughmans!! In the top left corner the kids are holding their certificates for their art. The pink pick is of a wall in Gidget's room that I've been playing with in my head for a long time. I have fun looking at it. :)

With hours of help from my handy friend Jasmine (check out http://forgetmeknotstreasures.blogspot.com/) I was able to actually (mostly) follow a pattern and make MDs blessing dress. I made a few changes so that it could be like Gidget's dress, which was mine when I was blessed (Gidget's pic is the last one of the bunch). Made it all the more sentimental. To add to sentimental value: Grandma McKe got the material, I used Grandma Brady's ribbon, and I used MY Grandma Phil's lace! (Jasmine, what do you think of the bonnet?)

These are photos taken by Lori Sheets. THANK-YOU! We took a fun trip to Newport Beach with my mom and so I gave Lori a call. Here's her info: http://lorisheetsphotography.com/
OH! And I got my haircut! Remember how a good chunk of my head was shaven in April '08? Well now it is all even... this is how much my hair grew over 18 months. Kinda slow, if you ask me. All good though.

Ketchup

You may have noticed that I've had a bit of catching up to do on my blog. Well, guess what... I got lots on there!!! Woo Hoo!! Check it out. Under this you'll catch August-June and then August again. I don't have many pics for Sept and Oct. yet. Maybe I'll find some and put them up in January!! ;)

Gidget is TWO!

My mom took these photos in honor of Gidget being two. She had fun modeling for Gramma McKe. The last one is of Gidget decked out in the items she got on her trip to Target with Grandma Brady. She loves dress-up and babies.

July Jubilees

We celebrated the 4th of July at David's sister's house. It was so fun to have Scott and Michelle's family down from Orem for Kristen's baptism on the same day. After the baptism and then swimming party my sister, Erin, and the family came over for the night (passing through to St. George/Cedar City for Rikki's Shakespeare play). We walked up the hill behind our house and watched the whole valley of fireworks. We were on a golf course and were nervous to get caught!! The sprinklers came on and gave us a good surprise and laugh. Gidget had been showing lots of interest in using the potty so I decided to start training. We didn't get too far before my hospital visit, which has put a delay on the process. She uses the potty every once in a while, but I haven't gotten back in training mode. I was also taking a Wilton's cake deco. class at Michael's Crafts store in July. I still have to finish it because M.D. came in the middle of the month session. Below is a photo of my 1st cake. Oh and Gidget cracked me up when she was chatting with my mom on the phone and hanging out on the chair-- had to take a photo (funny for now... give it a few years and we'll see).

June McKeon Reunion

Back in June my whole family got together for a McKeon Family Reunion. There were 25 grandkids, 8 children and spouses and my mom at the celebration. Keri and I were both very pregnant too. What a blast! We camped out at McGrath Beach (Oxnard, CA)... we rented an RV. I was not looking forward to the many trips to the bathroom with my full belly through the day and night. It was worth the extra dollars for sure!! Although, the bed was not comfortable AT ALL. I didn't get many pictures.
For Father's Day we had dinner at Jim and Keri's place they're staying at in Camarillo. Rikki and Nonnie put a presentation together for the dad's-- each dad was given a super hero name. After the reunion at the beach we went to my nephew, Justin's, Eagle Award Ceremony. The next day was my niece, Audrey's, baptism in Aliso Viejo. Our family had a busy week and we loved every minute. Where to next time?!! I'm excited for Thanksgiving with the family this year in Folsom.

Thanks Rikki and Natles

My two oldest nieces came to help out a few weeks after M.D. was born. The days went by so fast! David was ready to build an extra room for them to stay permanently. Mega-helpful and enjoyable. They helped around the house and in the kitchen, kept Gidget busy, and made me get some rest. They were dropped off by the family on their way home from Park City/ St. George and then we flew them home. They let me hang out at the airport gate with them until it came time for boarding. Exciting for them to go alone on the flight!
